UniCarriers is a global forklift manufacturer formed in 2011 through the merger of three industry giants: Nissan Forklift, TCM Corporation, and Atlet. In 2017, UniCarriers was acquired by Mitsubishi Logisnext Co., Ltd., one of the world's largest material handling groups. Today, UniCarriers forklifts are manufactured and distributed by Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas Inc., headquartered in Houston, Texas, and sold through a network of more than 130 authorized dealerships with nearly 250 locations across North, Central, and South America.
History and Legacy
UniCarriers brings together over 100 years of combined material handling experience. Nissan Forklift and TCM Corporation each had over 50 years of forklift manufacturing history before coming together in 2013 to form UniCarriers. In 2007, Nissan had acquired Swedish-based forklift maker Atlet, which also had over half a century of experience. The brand also traces its roots to Barrett Industrial Trucks, another legacy name in material handling.
The Nissan brand was phased out for forklifts in April 2014, with all new machines sold under the UniCarriers name. The exception was the Atlet warehouse range, which continued as "Atlet by UniCarriers". Grey became the main product color across the brands, replacing silver (Nissan) and yellow (Atlet, TCM).
